From January to August, Guangdong's foreign trade exports increased by 4.9%

According to the statistics of the Guangdong Branch of the Customs, from January to August this year, Guangdong's foreign trade import and export was 5.27 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.6%. Among them, exports were 3.34 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.9%; imports were 1.93 trillion yuan, a decrease of 6.1%.

From January to August, Guangdong's trade structure was continuously optimized, and general trade achieved rapid growth. From January to August, Guangdong's general trade import and export was 2.87 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.1%, 3.5 percentage points faster than Guangdong's overall import and export, accounting for 54.4% of Guangdong's total import and export value; processing trade decreased by 1.4%, accounting for 25.9%; Bonded logistics increased by 3.1%, accounting for 16.2%.

From the perspective of foreign trade entities, private enterprises still account for more than half of the total. From January to August, the import and export of Guangdong state-owned enterprises increased by 16%, accounting for 6%; private enterprises decreased by 0.7%, accounting for 56.2%; foreign-invested enterprises increased by 0.6%, accounting for 37.6%.
With the entry into force of RCEP, Guangdong's trade "circle of friends" has continued to expand, achieving double-digit growth in Europe and the United States. From January to August, Guangdong’s imports and exports to ASEAN amounted to 830.28 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8%; imports and exports to the United States, the European Union and Taiwan, China increased by 12.5%, 10% and 2.9% respectively; and Hong Kong, China decreased by 12.9%.
In terms of exports, high-tech products have obvious advantages in "going overseas", especially the rapid growth of new energy vehicles and lithium-ion batteries. From January to August, Guangdong's exports of electric passenger vehicles increased by 1.8 times, and lithium-ion batteries increased by 51.3%. In addition, exports of other major mechanical and electrical products have achieved growth. For example, electrical equipment increased by 20.1%, automatic data processing equipment and its components increased by 13.6%, and mobile phones increased by 1.5%. In the same period, Guangdong's export of labor-intensive products increased by 3.3%, among which, shoes, boots, bags and toys increased by 19.4%, 17.8% and 14.2% respectively.
