       According to customs data, from January to July, the export value of integrated circuits increased by 13.5% year-on-year to US$90.28 billion, making it the single commodity with the largest export value. In US dollars, imports fell by 11.8% year-on-year to 324.67 billion units.


   "The steady growth of the global semiconductor industry, the expansion of long-term demand driven by informatization, and the acceleration of the international layout of the electronic information industry are the main reasons for the growth of integrated circuit trade." He Yi analyzed.


   Since the beginning of this year, trade between integrated circuits and all major markets has increased. Among them, South Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia are important export markets for integrated circuits, and South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam and Japan are important import sources of integrated circuits.


  In the first seven months, the export value of integrated circuits to India increased by 66.3% year-on-year to US$2.19 billion, a year-on-year increase of 185% compared with 2020. "There are two reasons for the significant year-on-year increase in China's integrated circuit exports to India. On the one hand, in recent years, the Indian government has increased the subsidy quota, which has attracted more international main enterprises to invest in the local area; on the other hand, benefiting from India's start Digital transformation and upgrading plan, its semiconductor demand continues to expand." He Yi said.


  Integrated circuits are one of the key commodities that China imports from the United States. However, due to the influence of the supply side, the amount of integrated circuits imported by China from the United States from January to July fell by 28.8% year-on-year to US$6.95 billion. He Yi believes that China is still highly dependent on the United States in the fields of semiconductor equipment, chips and EDA software. Previously, the ban on the sale of devices adopted by Chinese companies included in the so-called entity list by the United States is generally a short-circuit field of Chinese information technology.


   The informatization and digitalization of the social economy has made the global semiconductor market promising in the medium and long term. The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics Organization (WSTS) predicts that the global semiconductor market will grow by 16.3% in 2022. In this regard, He Yi believes that the import and export of integrated circuits will continue to grow steadily in 2022, the export value is expected to increase by about 10%, and the import value will increase by about 5%.
